Letter To Parents

Dear Parents & Players,

On behalf of the MNMYF organization, we thank you for participating in the coming season.  The new game schedule will be posted once we determine how many teams will play in each league.  The season will start with our Jamboree on Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at Mankato East High School.  Games will begin on Saturday, September 4, 2010 and run every Saturday until the final game on Saturday, October 16, 2010, at which time all equipment must be turned in.

Numbers again are especially good and we hope to field 6 or 8 teams per age group.  Regardless of the grade level, it is important that players, parents and coaches remember that we are a block and tackle league and want to stress the fundamentals of football.  Coaches are expected to come to practice prepared and create a positive environment for the kids to learn.  Players are expected to attend scheduled  practices and always try their best.   We are not concerned about wins and losses.  We are concerned with safety, learning fundamentals of football, fair playing time and having fun.

Each year we encounter a few coaches trying to skirt the rules, parents displaying unacceptable behavior on the sidelines, and players wanting to play on game day but are unwilling to attend practices.  The Board of Directors is taking a very strong position on each of the above and is hopeful that we can get your support to achieve these objectives.  So this year we have assigned league reps for each grade level to call in case of any complaints or concerns.  These reps are listed below.  If at any time you don’t get the answer or concern taken care of, please call the MNMYF phone number: 625-1100.

Have a great 2010 football season!
Sincerely,

Neil Kaus
